What do you want to do in the new year? The truth is, many professionals focus on what they can do better as New Year’s Resolution. But as there are many ways to improve, make year over year progress takes a serious amount of determination and thought.
If you have struggled to increasing productivity, here are 5 tips to help you get start 2018 off right!
1. Get up early
Highly productive people seem to be brimming with enthusiasm, but that doesn't come naturally to everyone. To help you get your energy, you can try to get up earlier every day. Studies have shown that people who wake up early achieve better results.
Sleep is essential to keep you productive and 7 - 8 hours a night is the ideal amount of sleep for adults. So, give yourself an hour or so to wake up properly, going for a run and spruce yourself up rather than rolling out of bed and taking extra time to sleep. With this morning routine, you’ll feel more energetic and focussed throughout the day.
2. Be Proactive
In fact, busy people may be unproductive and being productive doesn’t mean you have to busy. Focus your energy on being active in areas which will bring benefit to your goals. Be more proactive person who set their goals and work to achieve them. Build checklist and reminders to remind you to keep working and prioritising things with different responsibilities. Don’t forget to take regular breaks to help you feeling much better. Choose wisely how you spend your time.
3. Seek Knowledge
To become a productive Muslimah, you have to continuously seeking knowledge. Regardless of your position, there is always more to learn and develop your knowledge. A new era competency system has inbuilt flexibility to quickly adapt. Work to gain more skills and knowledge by taking class and explore free resources online. Make commitment to learn something new everyday, depending on your work schedule.
4. Be self-reflective
Self-reflection can be a hard pill to swallow, but in the end all you’re really doing is acknowledging where you stand. Well, it’s easier said than done. Self-reflection is like your life’s GPS so you will know if you have to speeding down or even take the wrong road or not.
Perhaps you could regularly take time out to do self-relfection and write a journal of what went well in your day. But “Self” in self-reflection doesn’t require going solo. You can ask a friend or people that you trust to help you see more accurately the way our actions are leading to our outcomes. With continual self-reflection and feedback from people, we are able to grow, develop and become more productive. Insha Allah.
5. Get Tawakkul & Do Your Best
Tawakkul is reliance on Allah subhanahu wa ta’alaa and the productive Muslimah must always be mindful that success in achieving her goals will only come from Allah. At first Tawakkul seems difficult, but in reality it is a very natural and easy thing to do.
You probably want to make sure everything is perfect but perfection can ultimately be the enemy. Never be arrogant or feeling proud about your abilities. Remind yourself that Allah is the one who gave you the ability to work, and ultimately it’s the favor of Allah which will make you successful or not.
So that’s the 5 tips to become a productive Muslimah in 2018. Well, there's never enough time in the day to finish everything you need to get done. But you can at least start 2018 off right by cleaning up your messes.
